Happy Birthday Emmy!

I can't believe that it has been an entire year since Emery Margaret joined our family! It seems like she has always been here. She is so much fun to be around. I love that every day she she shows a little more of her personality. She is silly, playful, stubborn, and very social. Here is a rundown of everything Emery:

Stats:
Ht: 30" (80th percentile)
Wt: 26 lbs (95+ percentile)
Head: Forgot exact measurement but 95+ percentile)

Her 12th tooth is breaking through the skin. Last doctors visit they could see I-teeth as well. I am hopeful that teething will be over soon and Emery will actually learn to sleep through the night. Mommy and Daddy need some sleep!

Emery loves ducks! In fact, Spencer calls her a "duck-o-holic." She loves to carry around her rubber ducks making them quack ('gack'). She can also "Moo,", "Roar," "Bark" and "Meow." It is pretty entertaining watching her chase the cats while "meowing" at them (maybe not to the cats).

She can stack blocks, throw a ball, blow kisses and likes to barge into Abigail's room in the morning to wake her up.

She has really developed an interest in books. She loves Sandra Boynton's books, but her favorite right now is Goodnight Moon. She will point to the red balloon on each page, but where Abigail liked to find the little mouse, Emery likes to track the moon through the story, which really surprised me. For some reason, I never noticed that the moon rose through the story (duh, it's in the title), but she did.

She is a scary eater! The child will eat ANYTHING you put in front of her. She loves fish, broccoli, and couscous.

She has been a walker for around 6 weeks. She is now starting to get fast! She can step up, down, and over objects. She loves to climb too. You cannot take your eyes off of her in the backyard because she climbs right up into the playhouse, which happens to be around 5 feet high.

She loves to put her babies to sleep. She walks around the house saying "shhh" when they are laying down. As she was laying in our bed trying get a little sleep one morning, Spencer was being too loud. She sat up and gave her daddy the "shhh" so she could go back to sleep.

She can say, Mama, Dada, Abigail, duck, no, night-night, bye-bye, ball, there, bird, hot, water, Max, yuck, hop, hi, up, uh-oh, and boo.

She is VERY independent, just like her sister. She is a daredevil, but exercises just a little more caution than Abigail did as a toddler. I am so glad for her sense of adventure because she fits right into our family!

She loves to rub and pat. This is something that I miss so much from nursing. She would hold my hand or rub my arm. It was a wonderful bonding experience for the two of us.

Last but certainly not least, she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES, to dance. She is good at it and can keep the beat. So ironic with Spencer and I as parents!
